Financial independence planning

Know your FI year. Then make the moves that pull it closer.

ChartFI™ projects your finances decades out, then finds the tax and Social-Security claiming strategy that gets you there sooner — all from your own real numbers. The planning depth of a spreadsheet, with the analysis a spreadsheet can't do.

Private beta — invite only. Leave your email and we'll tell you the moment a spot opens.

Already invited? Log in. When ChartFI opens up, it's free to build your plan and see your FI number, and a 14-day free trial unlocks the full engine.

Most planners stop at a single guess. ChartFI goes further — it projects year by year, stress-tests against hundreds of markets, and searches for the strategy that reaches your FI number soonest.

01 — Strategy Optimizer

Not just a projection — the best moves to make

ChartFI jointly searches your Social-Security claiming ages, Roth-conversion schedule, and retirement date, then reports the single best combination — with a concrete dollar delta versus your current plan and a check on how it holds up if you live longer than expected. It's the difference between seeing your future and improving it.

02 — Monte Carlo risk

Your FI date is a range with odds, not a single guess

Markets don't move in a straight line, so ChartFI runs your plan through hundreds of simulated market histories. You get a success rate and a fan chart of outcomes — so you know not just when you might reach FI, but how confident you can be, and where the risk lives.

The tax detail generic calculators skip

State tax for all 50 states and DC, the ACA premium-subsidy cliff, IRMAA Medicare surcharges, required minimum distributions, qualified charitable distributions, and capital-loss carryforward — modeled year by year. These are exactly the details that decide whether a Roth conversion or an early retirement actually pays off.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can I sign up right now?
Not yet — ChartFI is in a private, invite-only beta while it's being hardened with a small group. Leave your email and you'll hear from us the moment a spot opens; we use it for that and nothing else. If you already have an invite, log in as normal. Everything described on this page, including the pricing below, is what you'll get when your invite lands.
What's free, and what do I pay for?
A free account lets you build your full plan — profile, budget, and assets — and see your headline numbers: your FI number (the portfolio size at which a safe withdrawal rate covers your spending), your projected FI year, and a top-line portfolio chart. The paid tier unlocks the analysis engine: the full year-by-year projection, Monte Carlo risk analysis, the tax-strategy and Social-Security optimizers, Plan vs Actual re-baselining (log what actually happened each year and re-project from reality instead of the original guess), the PDF report, and the AI assistant.
How accurate is it?
The projection engine is snapshot-tested across more than forty household scenarios — every field of every projection year — so the math is locked to a validated model. That said, it's still a model of an uncertain future, which is exactly why the Monte Carlo stress-testing matters. ChartFI shows you a range of outcomes, not a promise.
Is my data private?
Your data is stored under your own account. Export gives you a file copy you control at any time, and canceling never deletes your scenarios. Billing runs through Stripe's secure portal, so we never see your card number.
Do I need to enter a card for the trial?
Yes — checkout collects a payment method up front, but you won't be charged until the 14-day trial ends. Cancel any time before then from Account → Subscription and nothing is billed.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from Account → Subscription (Stripe's secure portal). You keep paid access through the end of the period you've already paid for, and your scenarios are never deleted.
